Community Cafe

Crosscare Community Cafe is a community gathering place with delicious fresh healthy food in the heart of Dun Laoghaire

Through our community cafe we ensure that people locally have access to an affordable home-cooked meal in a friendly and safe environment. As well as providing high quality food we also work with local schools, health centers and employment services building people’s knowledge and access to good quality food. The cafe creates a social space for people to meet and interact and provides a community space for people of all ages. Food poverty and scarcity is ever prevalent in our society with more than 10% of the population unable to feed themselves properly. Food poverty affects people of all ages from the young to the elderly.

We encourage a sense of community spirit through eating together and social gatherings.  We also aim to improve awareness on healthier lifestyles and diet.

Community Cafe group Dun Laoghaire Town

We aim to create a social space for the local community to come and enjoy a healthy meal. Our ethos is to provide a healthy and balanced meal for all in the local community and to achieve this food is prepared fresh and costs are kept to a minimum so all can afford to eat. Our menus have regular favorites and daily specials. Our aim is to create a vibrant and healthy community café to service the nutritional needs of the local area.

“The Café is open to everyone and we encourage as many people from the local community to pop in and see our service in action,”  “Paula Harris, Cafe manager”
